Progress! That's what counts, right? I've procrastinated a bit on this project but I've been making progress in spite of it. Since my last post I've detailed, primed and have begun painting on this spacey little kit.

I was going to remove most of the seam lines but ended up going a different route. I did remove the seams on the part that connects the shoulders to the binders, and also on the feet. But for the rest of the seams, I turned them into grooves. In order to do that I needed a special tool, but instead of buying one I made it! I super glued a piece of plastic plating in the middle of a chisel style exacto blade to use as a scraping guide. Then I used it to scrape along one side of the seams to make a groove. I then went over the grooves with a .8 Madworks chisel to clean them up. Here's the result:

The groove down the middle is the detail I added.

I used my custom tool on the chest piece to add detail on the sides.

Wash time! I washed the entire kit in dish soap and then rinse it, in order to remove plastic shavings from detailing and sanding, and make sure it's clean so there's noting between the plastic and primer.

I've been using Alclad's grey primer & microfiller. It works well and leaves a great smooth surface for paint.

Cobalt Blue! This color is easy to over thin because it is already pretty thin; I'll have to go over it again because it pooled just a little. Also, that Metallic Red Gold is GORGEOUS!

Next up is the galaxy style paint job for he main armor pieces. When they're done, it should look like those pictures of deep space we get from the Hubble telescope. I got the idea from a modeler called Jhomny Iris. Lookup his Qubeley, I'm going for the same look but with brighter colors on the frame and chest. I'm still trying to dial in the base blue color because the only 2 places that sell Mr Color paints in Dallas are out of regular purple. Who bought all the purple!?!?  I may go with bright blue instead of purple, really any shade of blue will work as long as it contrasts with black and pink.

Thats all for now! I also started working on a Nu Ver Ka that I'm using metal detail parts, pla plating and as many details as I can :) More on that soon. Until next time, keep building!
